Log into your AWS Lightsail account

Select build using Virtual Servers

1. Select Microsoft Windows
The system will display three Windows Servers (OS - Operating System only) options.
We recommend always selecting the most recent (here it is 2022).

2. Click the right arrow to display additional options.

3. Click on a plan (here we selected the $70/month plan).
We recommend the 8 GB virtual machine option as the best blend between price/performance. 
Of course, feel free to choose a more robust platform.
Note: You cannot change or upgrade the platform once it is created.

4. Enter a name for this instance (a.k.a. virtual machine / server).

5. Click 'Create'

Once you click create instance, the system will display the instance screen below.
Note: It may take several minutes to to go from 'Pending' to 'Running'.

After a few minutes, the instance will be 'Running'

Once the system is 'Running', you can connect to it.
Click on the three dots in the upper right corner > Manage.
