When using ACH Universal Online, there are three ways to bring in data and create an ACH file:
- Importing an Excel or CSV file
- QuickBooks Online integration
- [Less common] Importing an ACH .txt file
Importing an Excel or CSV file
From the Home Page, you can click 'Import Transactions'
Once at the Import page, you will see the option to
--Import a file or copy/paste the data -- NOTE: The spreadsheet must be closed.
--Copy and paste the data -- NOTE: The spreadsheet can remain open and all numbers must be visible (e.g., not in scientific notation). You will copy only the fields with data--not the entire row or entire column.
If importing data or copying/pasting data, when the data is brought into the software, it is necessary to identify the information in each column ('mapping').
In the dropdowns above each column you will see the options to identify each data set:
At a minimum, you will need a Name, ABA Routing Number, Bank Account Number, and Amount (or Amount Reverse Sign)
You will have an opportunity to review the control totals:
If the totals are correct, you will 'Complete Import' in the lower right.
QuickBooks Online Integration
When integrating with QuickBooks Online, it is necessary for the user to have an Admin role in QuickBooks.
Click on 'Open Profiles' and then 'Edit' each Profile to include their bank and/or email information.
Importing an ACH File
--Import an ACH text file (This option is a small button at the bottom left of the page.)
