We can certainly assist you with getting started. However, we do have some video tutorials that are embedded on the Quick Start page in the software. These videos can also be found at the following URL:
We do encourage our users to watch the videos as they will provide a great overview.
Follow these instructions once the software has been downloaded and installed. If you have not yet installed the software, please refer to the link at the bottom of the page.
Step One: Bank Rec requires that you work with a SQL Express or a SQL Server database. If using a SQL Express, please be sure to download the SQL Express engine (or bundle). http://treasurysoftware.com/Support/support2-Installation-SQL-Express.aspx
If using a SQL Server, you will need a SQL Admin or DBA to assist during the setup.
Click on Settings->Migrate to SQL Express, SQL Server... and continue through the wizard.
Step Two: Create a new account to work in rather than using the Sample account [File->New Account->Create an Account... give it a name and continue through the wizard until Finished.]
Step Three: Import the initial data--
1. Run an Outstanding Checks report and export this report to an Excel or CSV file.
Click the the 'Import GL' icon on the main screen to start the Import Wizard. Initially, you will map the column headers (see sample below) and then the headers will 'stick' for any subsequent imports. If you do not have a list of outstanding checks, we recommend importing the last 30 days of checks issued.
2. Run a Check Register report for a given date range--the initial period--and then export this report to an Excel spreadsheet or CSV file.
Click the the 'Import GL' icon on the main screen to import this second GL list and continue through the Import Wizard.
Note: Disbursement amounts that are shown as positive numbers must be mapped as "Amount Reverse Sign".
Step Four: Export your bank information and save it to an Excel or CSV file. Click on the 'Import Bank' icon on the main screen. Again, you will map the column headers with the initial import (see sample below).
Step Five: Select "Matching Window" from the top menu, then select "Run System Matching (Automated Transaction Matching)", and the matching will start immediately.
