At an IT computer with SQL Server Management Studio:
1. If this is a new user to Treasury Software, confirm their security permissions on the SQL server with your database administrator (as below):
- Enter into SQL Server Management Studio.
- Select Security (at the server level). Select 'Login'. Confirm the existence of the user's ID.
- If there is no login, please create one now.
- To add a login, right click on 'Login' and select 'New Login'.
2. Enter the user's login name and complete the security options per your corporate environment.
-
Make sure their default database is 'master'
-
Note whether you are creating a Windows Authentication or SQL Server based login ID.
3. Once you have set up the Login ID:
- Select the User Mapping page
- Check the databases they need access to. Note: Always grant access to the 'Sample' database.
- Make sure that the role 'BankRecPosPayUsers' is checked on each database, including Sample.
4. Click OK when finished.
Install Treasury Software (client) on the workstation or server:
1. Obtain the same version of Treasury Software from your administrator that you are using on the other workstations.
The version number can be found by starting Treasury Software on another user's computer and entering into an account. Then, from the main menu select 'Help' >'About'.
2. Install the software on the new workstation (make sure that you have administrator rights to the computer).
3. Start the software. From the 'Welcome New Users' screen, select the application you are using (ACH Universal, Bank Positive Pay, or Bank Rec).
4. From the main menu select the 'Settings' tab > 'Migrate to SQL Express, SQL Server'.
- Point to the SQL Server in the drop down list.
- If you don't see your server listed, you can type the server name or IP address directly into the box.
- Then click 'Next'
Tip: If there is an instance of SQL Server, don't forget it.
Example: If the instance was Accounting on Server7, it would be displayed as Server7\Accounting
5. Enter in the USER's credentials, as you have them on your SQL Server.
- Click either 'Test Login ID' or 'Next'.
- Complete the Wizard.
The system will prompt you to exit and re-enter.
From the 'Welcome New Users' screen, again, select the application you are using (ACH Universal, Bank Positive Pay, or Bank Rec).
6. Update any workstation settings --including the Global list of accounts, if applicable.
While not common (only used for over 100 accounts), see if you are using a 'Global' list of accounts.
a. If so - enter into the Sample account.
b. From the main menu select the 'Settings' tab > 'Import, System' > 'System' tab > 'Suppress Automation - Global Batch Process Menu' and turn it to 'Display'. Exit and re-enter into the account.
c. From the main menu select 'Automation' > 'Global' > click at the bottom 'Utilities to add/create' > click the 2nd button 'Auto-populate your local machine from the Global list'. Close the window when complete.
7. Add the accounts.
From the main menu select 'File' > 'New Account' > 'Add an Existing Account'. Select the accounts/databases that the User should be able to see on their list of accounts.
8. Enter license and custom codes, if applicable.
License: From the main menu select 'File' > 'Enter License Codes'. Enter the codes, your email address, and 'Click to Register'.
Custom codes (if applicable): From the main menu select 'File' > 'Options' > 'General' > 'Custom' tab.
Tips:
The number one issue in any installation is security.
--Make sure that you have a system administrator login ID before starting
--Create/arrange for a login for the user (if new)
